For my PhD I researched volcanism and uplift in the Hangai Mountains in Mongolia. Here is a selection of photos from the years 2016 to 2019.

Over the course of these four years, I spent almost five months in Mongolia for fieldwork. During this time, I had not only the chance to travel through and photograph the remote and multifaceted landscapes, with vast skies and a largely untouched nature. Thanks to our Mongolian colleagues, I could meet the people, experience Mongolian hospitality and get a glimpse of their rich nomadic culture and heritage. But this is the topic of a different post: People, Customs  and Culture.
