Megalith & Moor
Inspired by the great Black Metal long player Monolit from Skogen, I got the idea of photographing a Megalith structure, ideally during a misty sunrise and with dramatic sun rays in the fog. To my surprise, there is indeed such a structure close to Zürich.
The Erdmannlistein is a structure of glacial erratics in the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland. During the Würm glaciation the Reuss glacier transported these granite blocks from the Aarmassif northwards close to their current location. Most likely, humans then erected the blocks in neolithic times to be used as astronomic calendar or place of worship.
So far, the Megaliths have cooperated in fulfilling my vision, but the fog has been elusive. I will keep trying though and plan to return to the location since the surrounding forests and swamps provide ample opportunity for moody pictures.
